Ocelot Chocolate.

To say Ocelot founders Matt and Ish are obsessed with good chocolate is an understatement - to them it belongs in a food group entirely of its own magnitude. They believe high-grade dark chocolate, like a fine wine or a specialty cheese, is up there with one of the most special things in the world.

Ocelot has now joined chocolate forces with Original Beans - a joint commitment to craft foods, chocolate and making the world a better place. “Speak what’s true, eat what’s pure, preserve what’s rare” is an Original Beans’ motto. That sums it up nicely for us all.

The Ocelot range is certified organic with a cocoa percentage of 70%, the chocolate is made from beans which are grown in Virunga National park - Africa's oldest nature reserve and the home of the last Mountain Gorillas. Ocelot works tirelessly to ensure the cocoa farmers are given the fair trade and resources to enable them to focus on producing healthy, high quality cocoa as well as enabling them to look after their families, the community and protect the environment.

The farmers are actively working to protect the gorillas and this precious habitat, and the beans that are produced reflect this wondrously diverse region, creating a chocolate with the rich and tart flavours of dark fruits, earthy forest floor and smoky tobacco. Matt and Ish then bring these flavours to life in their Edinburgh based micro factory, creating each bar lovingly by hand.

Not only does Ocelot demand the highest quality when it comes to sourcing ethical produce, but they’re devoted to ensuring ethical business practices are used in every way they can. The outer packaging is produced in the UK from FSC certified paper stock and the inner film is 100% home and industrial compostable.
