Côté Bougie.

When Saïda Kadiri left Casablanca for Marrakech, she wanted to find a meaningful occupation that would satisfy her creative ambitions and so she started making candles. Côté Bougie was launched in 2013 and has evolved into a family run business, with Omar, Saidas son joining the business two years later. Côté Bougie collections pay homage to Moroccan artisans and their age-old techniques, by combining traditional methods with modern design.

True to their own principles, and mindful of environmental concerns, Côté Bougie uses only the finest materials and natural products and adopts an eco-friendly first approach across the business. The candles are made from 100% vegetable wax that is obtained from renewable sources.

The brand also works with a female cooperative in Essaouira, who are masters of hand-weaving. Côté Bougie strives to support the emancipation of women in Morocco by encouraging them to work together to produce and sell their crafts.
